Summer Camp Counselor Positions - June 2018 - August 2018

Applications are now being accepted for the City of Fairfax’s 2018 Summer Camp Program
Duties: Duties vary depending on position. All positions require organizing or supervising children (pre-school through grade 10) in a summer day camp which may include arts and crafts, music and dance, sports and games, special events, performers, swimming and field trips.
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have graduated from high school (or equivalent), 6 months experience required or one year elementary education or child development courses can be substituted. Must be able to communicate well with children, parents, and the public. High school students 16 years of age and older are eligible for Junior Leader positions only. Junior Leaders will work 25-40 hours per week. Previous recreation program or summer camp experience desired. All persons selected for employment must pass a security background check and a tuberculosis (TB) screening.

NOTE: Where candidates are equally qualified for a position, residents of the City of Fairfax will receive priority consideration.
Hours: Monday through Friday
Salary: $12.00 - $16.00 hourly. No benefits.
