The Commissioner of the Revenue has established a hotline and online process for citizen inquiries. To determine whether city taxpayers are properly registered and/or licensed, citizens are encouraged to use either process outlined below.

Personal Property

To report vehicles that are normally garaged or parked in the City of Fairfax but are not displaying a valid decal, please call the hotline at 703-385-7884.

Business License

To report businesses that are operating in the City of Fairfax but are not displaying a valid City of Fairfax business license, or to report contractors, peddlers, or canvassers operating in the City, please call the hotline at 703-385-7884.

You may also make your anonymous report for vehicles or businesses online.

Finally, you may check back on the status of a previously reported vehicle or business by entering the vehicle license number or incident reference number for business license.
